Geordan Olson- Artistic Director

Geordan Olson(Coupland) is the director of the LCI Arts Academy Dance Program.  Prior to this she lived in Toronto and worked as a choreographer, dance artist, rehabilitative pilates instructor and dance teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Ryerson University as well as an education degree specializing in drama from the University of Lethbridge.  

 

She has choreographed and performed for various festivals/shows including FFIDA, Toronto International Dance Festival, Montreal Fringe Festival, Dance Matters, Mac Viva Glam Fashion Cares, Series 8:08, Guelph Contemporary Festival, Women in Dance, Toronto Fringe Festival and the Bazaar produced by Mariano Abarca. Geordan as also a co-choreographer and performer in the music video production of “Shutterbuggin’” by Buck 65, directed by Juno award winner Christopher Mills. 


Geordan is the co-founder of Toronto dance company Alias Dance Project www.aliasdanceproject.com.  Through her work with Alias Geordan has had the privilege of working with K.M Hunter recipient Valerie Calam, Dora award winning Gadfly, Lauren Cook, resident choreographer for Dancemakers Andrea Spaziani, Dora award winner Heidi Strauss, Dora award winner Allen Kaeja, Solid State Breakdance and Bboy Whiplash. In addition, Geordan received her ACTRA membership through working in film and television in Toronto from 1997-2003.
